It takes me approximately 5 days of being good with my low-carb, high-fat ketogenic diet and some exercise in order to get back into nutritional ketosis (aka”fat-burning beast mode”) after a high-carb binge on Christmas. I scored a 1.5 mM/L ketone and 71 mg/dL blood glucose reading today 3+ hours after playing racquetball. My public MyFitnessPal food and exercise log is here.
Tomorrow I’ll be experimenting with some chocolate PB2 powder (85% cacao), thick-cut bacon, KerryGold Irish butter, water, and a little Truvia/Nectresse, inspired by this recipe for chocolate covered bacon from the YourLighterSide website. Some unfortunate souls on New Year’s Eve will be guinea pigs. Wish me (or should I say “them”) luck!
